Former Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources sport fishing educator Clint Kowalik will go over fishing basics during the 35th New Alsace Conservation Club Fishing Derby at Lake in the Pines, New Alsace. The fishing derby is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6. Registration begins at 6 a.m. Clint will present a program, then help people with their fishing skills starting at 10 a.m. The program is free for everyone. Kids 12 and under can participate in the derby for free, adults and kids 12 and over is $18. No registration needed for either program. No fishing license required.
