Program Description

This ain't Texas, but the New Horizons Gospel Choir is going country at the Lawrenceburg Main Library! Stop by and listen to a free mini concert then line dance over to The Friendly Bean to buy and enjoy a special menu lunch!

The New Horizons Gospel Choir was formed in 2023 when some individuals at the Brookville day program spoke out about wanting to organize an official choir with their peers. The Music Therapist, Amanda Edwards, organized weekly rehearsals with songs that the group wanted to sing and performed for peers in. Since then, the group has expanded to include individuals from all of the New Horizon day program sites with weekly full group rehearsals of songs ranging from "Jesus Loves Me" to "Forever and Ever, Amen."

After the mini concert, enjoy lunch at The Friendly Bean inside the Lawrenceburg Main Library. A special menu that day will include cowboy chili, some country time strawberry lemonade and country sugar cookies.

The Friendly Bean is designed to give individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities employment opportunities. It's more than just a café. Through New Horizons, it offers an inclusive space where everyone can come learn, meet others, and build relationships!

No registration needed! We hope to see you there! Show your support for New Horizons!
