Dungeons & Dragons: Larceny at the Library with author H. T. Martineau (Teens Only Session)

Important Update Regarding Meeting Usage During Library Renovation

During 2026, we will be undergoing a renovation to better serve the people of Dearborn County.

Due to the renovation, access to the Youth Services Department will be closed to the public during January and February. You will still be able to use the Ewbank Meeting Room throughout this closure, but our procedures for using the room have been modified:

  • Please enter the library via the High St. entrance. This entrance provides direct access to the Ewbank Meeting Room only. To access other areas of the library, you must use the Mary St. or Parking Lot entrances.
  • Once inside, please call our Adult Services Department at 812-537-2775 Ext. 1125. Let us know that you have arrived and provide your group's name. A staff member will come to unlock the room for your group.
  • If you need any assistance at any time during your meeting, please call 812-537-2775 Ext. 1125 and a staff member will come to help.
  • When your meeting has finished, please call 812-537-2775 Ext. 1125 again to let us know. Please leave your clipboard in the room. A staff member will come to lock the room and collect the clipboard. There is no need to wait for us.

We are excited to share our upgraded spaces with you once renovations are complete. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve your library.

Program Description

Program Description

Join author H.T. Martineau for a one-shot Dungeons and Dragons adventure set in a library in Port Albatross in the world of Ambergrove.

As players, you will find yourselves in the study room of the library at the same time. Unbeknownst to you, while you are studying, someone in the main library has taken a valuable artifact. The library is shut down, and as the only ones who cannot be guilty of this crime, it is up to you to investigate and recover the item before the dark guardian of the library is unleashed.

Limit 5 players per session. Session 1 is for teens and Session 2 is for adults. We expect each session to last 60-90 minutes.

This adventure is for 5th level characters. Five premade characters are included. If you are experienced with D&D and sign up before the event, you may choose to create your own character instead. If you create your own character, you must use the Ambergrovian Adventurer's Guide, the player's handbook for D&D set in Ambergrove, which is available at the library. Due to the setting of the one-shot, your character CANNOT be a Firebrand or Riverbend Elementalist.

Please make sure to choose one of these options during registration. If any of these options are gone, the character has already been claimed. If more than one person picks the same option before it can eliminated from the list of choices, the first person to register will be given that character and you will be notified to choose another one.

  • Tarym, Hill Giant, Oath of Division Paladin
  • Oakbranch, Bearkin, Earthtender Elementalist
  • Ra-to, Human, Shadowspy Naadakh
  • Pachu’A, Human, Life Domain Cleric
  • Salali, Human, College of Lore Bard
  • Other: ________________________
